Plano, TX, March 12, 2008; Plano Unlimited Sports Academy’s Optional gymnasts make another strong showing at this past weekend’s Rose City Classic held in Tyler, Texas. The meet’s growing following attracted several strong teams from the area, making for a good competitive venue.

Plano USA’s gymnasts again showed well. Their Level 7 Team did well with Jordon Stavrou of Dallas, Level 7/Junior A Division, earning top three placement in all events and a gold in the All-Around; Emily Bockoven of Plano, Level 7/Senior A also took home the silver medal in the All-Around, with a great showing in all events – 1^st on Vault, 3^rd on Bars, and 2^nd on floor.

Plano USA’s Level 8 Team also took home the medals – Skyler Sheppard of Murphy earned the Gold on Beam, and the Silver on Floor; and Peyton Travis of Dallas took home Bronze on Vault, Gold on Beam and Floor, and a Silver in the All-Around.

Plano USA’s Level 9 Team is definitely earning their stripes to in experience and medals. This first year Level 9 Team is doing quite well against a competition pool of second year Level 9s. Rachel Colman, of Allen, placed 5^th on Floor with one of the most exciting floor routines of the day; Abby Bollinger, of Plano, took home the Gold Medal on Vault; Molly O’Bryan of Flowermound won the All-Around Gold Medal in the Jr.C Division with first place finishes on the Bars, and Beam and Jensen McMillen took 4^th place on Vault also in the Jr. C Division.

Gymnastic’s Optional Season is definitely gaining momentum.

Level 7 State Championships will be held March 15^th at Lone Star Gymnastics located in Fort Worth. Level 9/10 State Championships will be held March 29^th @ Texas Dreams, with Level 8 State Championships shortly thereafter.
