Local Gymnasts savor the sweet smell of success after a good showing at yellow Rose classic.

Plano, TX, Feb 28, 2008; Plano Unlimited Sports Academy’s gymnasts make another good showing at this past weekend’s Yellow Rose Classic held at TWU and co-hosted by the North Texas Judges Association.  Held every year, the meet is also a training forum for new judges.

Plano Unlimited Sports Academy’s gymnasts also utilized this meet to solidify and polish their routines and skills on their road to the State, Regional, and Western Championships.  Plano USA’s Level 9s took home placed second.  In the Senior Division, Molly O’Bryan of Flowermound placed first on the Uneven Bars, Floor Exercise, and first in the All-Around. Emily Dombrowski, also of Flowermound, took first on the Balance Beam and second on Floor and Jensen McMillen of Plano took 2nd place on beam.  In the Junior Division, Abby Bollinger, placed first on Vault, second on Beam, and third on Floor, and third in the All-Around.

When asked how they thought their optional gymnasts were doing, Coach Helen Verucchi & Valeriy Indyukov said, “At this point in the season, all our efforts in training are to polish and strive for consistency.  We think we’re on the right track.  At this point it’s up to each individual gymnast to bring their best to every meet.”

Plano Unlimited’s Gymnastics Team is coached by Helen Verucchi and Valeri Indyukov.  The two combined have nearly 55 years of coaching experience.
